Unfortunately, it appears that Samsung is looking to cut costs, which may result in the removal of one of the camera sensors. According to a report from the Korean publication The Elec, Samsung may remove the depth sensor from the upcoming Galaxy A24, Galaxy A34, and Galaxy A54 phones. For those who are unaware, the Galaxy A phones have long featured a four-camera setup. A primary camera, an ultra-wide shooter, a macro camera, and a depth sensor are included. According to the report, Samsung may remove the depth sensor. This means that future Galaxy A phones, such as the Galaxy A24, A34, and A54, will only have three lenses: a primary, an ultra-wide, and a macro lens. The removal of the depth sensor is being done by Samsung to save revenue. For those concerned about how this might affect the overall experience, given that not all phones have depth sensors, Samsung could try to compensate with software, which is fine, but we’ll have to wait for the phones to be released to conclude if any of these presumed changes affect consumer’s experience.
